Yasin Valley


The Yasin Valley, a spectacular scenic beauty, is a high mountain valley in the Hindu Kush mountains, in the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is adjacent to the Ishkoman Valley and the two separated by a high mountain pass, the Asumber pass.

It is an amazing natural beauty. During the summer season the valley is great attraction for national and international tourists and adventure lovers not only because of scenic beauty but of its treking options from Darkut to Chitral via Broghal pass and Baba Ghundi via Chilingi pass. Yasin valley's photos can be found in the British Library taken by Sir Marc Aurel Stein, who visited valley in 1913-15.

There is an annual festival, Tukhm Rezi, celebrated in spring season or start of the summer. It is a centuries old agricultural festival of Yasin Valley, when people play traditional polo match, enjoy horses jump, dancing on traditional music and cook a traditional dish called Diram.
