Dakholi Lake


Dakholi Lake is a natural and the second highest lake of Pakistan(4,839 metres (15,876 ft) ), still un-explored situated in the mountains of Khaplu broq and Surmo Valley, District Ghanche in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The lake is difficultly accessible through Surmo Broq or by khaplu broq Baltistan by trek following the Hanju luba (A seasonal water stream) and it is about 13.24 km from main khaplu town while 13.37 km from surmo village. it has another small nameless lake in the vicinity (south) which is about 950 ft in length and 550 ft width with the elevation of 4920 m is probably the highest lake of Pakistan.

Between the months of November to May the whole area of Dakholi Lake is snow bound. However, the area has much natural beauty during Spring and Summer Season. The best time of visiting this beautiful lake is in summer between June to early September.
